March 28, 2012 St. Petersburg, FL - More than 100 people attended the 8th Annual FRACCA Education Conference, Passport to Excellence, on March 23 and March 24 in Orlando, FL at the Rosen Centre Hotel to learn, network, and experience the FRACCA difference! FRACCA showcased 15 unique vendors while providing quality, HVAC-R specific education for industry contractors.

Friday, March 23, 2012 featured a Panel Discussion about the 2010 Code (including representatives from TLC Engineering, Gulf Coast Air Systems, and OT-9 Design) as well as presentations by Engineered Control Systems, Federated Insurance, Gulf Coast Air Systems, Akuwa Solutions Group, Carlton Fields, Certified Refrigerant Services, BTU Reps, Cogburn Brothers and the Florida DBPR Building Code Division. Hot topics included Direct Digital Controls for HVAC, Improved Management Techniques, Internet Security, Collections 101, The New Refrigerants and Thermal Imaging Diagnostics.
Once classes concluded for the day, participants were treated to food and drinks at the President's Hospitality Reception where Speakers, Sponsors and Contractors gathered to rehash the day's educational programing and catch up with old friends. Many of the attendees kept the party going into the night, participating in the ACCA of Central Florida chapter's Monte Carlo Night where they gambled the night away in a benefit event for the chapter.
Saturday, March 23, 2012 continued the fantastic educational offerings with a keynote address and presentation on the Econmy and the HVAC-R Contractor featuring returning speaker Talbot Gee, Executive Vice President and COO of HARDI. The day's classes included presentations from SpacePak, Trent Cotney P.A., Florida Air Conditioning Distributors, E3 Building Sciences and Johnson's A/C. Featured topics included Small Duct/High Velocity Systems, Davis-Bacon Act, Future Chiller Tchnologies for Residential & Commercial Markets, Condensate Recovery, 2012 Update on EnergyStar and What Your HVAC Techs Should Know About Building Diagnostics.
